Connecting third-grade educators district-wide at GRPS!
Our elementary supervisor and intervention strategies coaches brought our third-grade team together for an impactful afternoon of collaborative learning. With several new faces joining the grade-level over the last few years, these sessions are designed to build consistency, shared practices, and strong partnerships across all our buildings.
From diving into Social Studies inquiry practices (QFT) and observing labsite reading lessons to hands-on co-teaching and unit planning, our teachers were hard at work laying the groundwork for student success.
We’re excited to keep this momentum going as we continue growing and learning together! 🤝📖📓3️⃣

Byrd, Central, Coleman, and Hamilton hosted their annual RULER Family Night to support social-emotional learning (SEL) and strengthen the connection between home and school. The evening provided families with an opportunity to learn more about the RULER approach and explore strategies to help children Recognize, Understand, Label, Express, and Regulate their emotions.
Through this initiative, the district continues to promote emotional well-being, positive relationships, and a supportive school community where all students feel safe, connected, and included! 🫶🧑🧑🧒🧒🤝🏫

Central held the Fastest Class Challenge! 💨🏃♂️ Students in Grades 2–5 put their speed and teamwork to the test during Mr. Walsh’s PE class! Students ran for 5 minutes while Mr. Walsh counted each runner as they crossed the finish line. The total time was then divided by the number of students to calculate each class’s average time. Congratulations to Mrs. Bonanno’s class for having the fastest average time! 🎉👏🥇 A huge shoutout to Mr. Walsh for organizing such a fun and exciting challenge! Way to get everyone moving, working together, and having fun! ⏱️🏃 #rockgrnj #centralgrps #fastestclasschallenge

Having completed a current total of eighteen interviews throughout the month of September, the GRBOE has selected two finalists in the Superintendent Search.
The Board anticipates making a careful decision between these greatly distinguished and highly accomplished educational leaders after a final round of interviews on Tuesday, Sept. 29, and a robust reference check. We look forward to announcing our incoming Superintendent after work has been completed, and the employment contract has been successfully negotiated by the Board and finalist, and approved by the NJDOE.
We will appoint our new Superintendent by formal vote at a public meeting of the State BOE. That meeting date will be publicized in advance.
Thank you for your continued interest and support during our Superintendent Search. We are confident that our next Superintendent will lead our schools, community, and students into a very bright future!

The Glen Rock Board of Education met with twelve candidates during the first round of Superintendent interviews, held over two nights this past week.
Each interview was engaging and informative, and the Board appreciates the time, commitment, and professionalism demonstrated by all of the candidates we met.
